I am one to think that most of the time, inspirations finds me instead of the other way around.
When I told my family that I was going to apply for the Audubon Society’s Wild Arts Festival, Tiff sent me this book by Don Hadden on Australian birds. After laying eyes on the cover, I knew that I had to paint it. In my mind, I could already picture the finished product. So, the next logical thing to do was to contact the author and after an exchange of emails and a promise to send him a print after its done, I embarked on my latest project.
I am getting the hang of painting birds and it looks like they are looking pretty decent.
I also discovered Pandora and that helps put me in the right mood when I am painting. Too much NPR can be quite disstressing, I found. Looks like the long-tailed finches agree !
